2 December 2011

from Lee Rowland

Jon was such an inspiration to me that I cannot express.

I loved his humour: a couple of years ago, and having not seen Jon for at least 2 years, I was walking round Russel Square and did a little wobbly slip on some wet leaves, just as Jon walked round the corner and remarked 'ah, after all these years I still have that intoxicating effect on you'.

His grace and brilliance in experimental work, along with his and Nilli's work in Attention, inspired my Ph.D. research. I will never forget his influence on my life, and my heart goes out to Nilli and their children.
