1 December 2011

from Richard Sylvester

I had just started my PhD at the ICN and was struggling to adjust to my new surroundings having come from clinical medicine. Jon was my secondary supervisor and we met to discuss plans for my first study. I was nervous at first but within a few minutes felt completely at ease. This calm was rapidly replaced by the realization that I needed to process and store what Jon was telling me. Even at that early stage I knew it was gold dust. I left the meeting with enough intellectual material to keep me going through the next three years but more importantly I knew I had made the right decision in coming to the ICN and it would work out fine.
