1 December 2011

from Tony Jack

I remember Jon well from my time in the early days of the ICN. I was very sorry to hear this news. In particular I send my consolations to Nilli. Jon had a remarkably penetrating mind. In particular, I remember from many meetings being struck by his ability to rapidly parse and analyze behavioral paradigms. I also remember a thought he used to repeat often during the time I knew him, which went something like "The problem is that I study attention, but I just don't know what attention is. I am not sure it is anything." An amusing comment from someone who has done so much good work on the topic, and a testament to his deep thinking.
